ABOUT ME!

Byron’s career in the music industry began with guitar and bass lessons in Yorkton, Saskatchewan when he was a student. This sparked a love for music which evolved into an interest in producing when he began working part time at a local recording studio. Weekends and evenings were spent playing in bands, doing sound for local bands and working as an assistant engineer at the recording studio.

 

Relocating to Regina, he participated as a musician in a number of bands and honed his production skills by recording albums for local bands with his own equipment. Byron worked at Talking Dog studios for a number of years, where he performed audio tasks such as speech, BG effects, foley and music stems for film post-production projects, including the hit TV series Corner Gas. Byron also holds his Journeyman Electrician certificate.

 

He is specifically proud of his truly diverse interest and knowledge of all genres of music and plays bass and keyboards. He has participated as a musician, producer, engineer and mixer on recordings from country and folk to the heaviest of metal (insert sub-genre 🤘), while also mixing for bands at a number of local venues. Byron’s knowledge and experience as a musician has afforded him the skills to excel as a producer.

 

Byron has been the bass player for Nick Faye & the Deputies for almost ten years and has recorded and/or played bass on all of the band’s releases.
